{Denim & Downtown with TEAM 27}
TEAM 27 officially kicked things off with our “Denim & Downtown” mini session and it could not have been a more perfect way to begin this year! Decked out in the cutest denim looks and strolling the streets downtown together, the entire evening was effortlessly fun, and so full of personality. Between the laughter and all the little candid moments, it already felt like this group had known each other forever. If this first shoot was any indication of what’s ahead, TEAM 27 is going to have an unforgettable year together!
Meet TEAM 27!
Malea – a very kind and caring Algona High senior who, very fittingly, works as a CNA. Malea holds many leadership positions throughout FFA and 4-H. She also adds 2024 Kossuth County Fair royalty to her repertoire. In the spring and summer time, she enjoys taking care of her show pigs and growing fresh cut florals. During the school year she loves being involved in basketball and golf.
Ocean – this Emmetsburg High senior is quite shy but making big moves to step out of her comfort zones. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, as well as riding horses. During the summer, she spends a lot of time at rodeos, camping, or just being on the lake. A fun fact about Ocean, her name came as inspiration from a trip her mom took to Hawaii.
Mya – this girl loves trying new things like crocheting blankets, braiding hair for athletes, doing nails, painting murals, making pottery, makeup on friends, and so much more. Some of her favorite summer activities include golfing, sand volleyball, line dancing, tanning, boating, church camps, and lastly, running. Mya was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which prevents her from doing some of the sports she loves but maintains such a positive attitude about it. She’s planning to start her senior year joining the Emmetsburg cross country team.
Audrey – this very outgoing Humboldt High senior loves everything about summer! A girl after my own heart! From a very young age, Audrey has set a goal to graduate high school a year early and she is so excited to finally be able to achieve this goal. She’s even recently achieved her CNA certification.
Emma (not pictured) – Sadly, Emma couldn’t make it our first shoot, as she was preparing for the state track meet. She is the oldest daughter of four sisters and plays all four sports. If you didn’t think that keeps her busy enough, she also spends her spare time with her horse. This Garner-Hayfield-Ventura High student is fun, kind, a leader, and loves to work together with other people. Emma aspires to be a vet or reporter.
A huge thank you to the incredible vendors who helped bring this session to life! Cultivate Family Shop bringing the cutest denim styles that fit each girl so perfectly, and Innovations Salon & Spa made everyone feel so confident and beautiful with hair and makeup. I’m endlessly grateful for the local businesses who help make these experiences so special for my girls year after year.
