{A Recap of Our Fall}
October has a way of making everything feel a little more meaningful. It’s the month that starts all the fall/winter holiday craze and where a little bit of magic starts to inch in. This October might go down as one of our most memorable months yet!
We kicked off the month picking apples! I had big plans to be the mom who bakes something delicious right away… and I did! I made apple crisp. And I also quickly remembered why I don’t bake. It was surprisingly time-consuming (not only the baking part but also the clean up), but honestly? Worth it! It tasted so good, even if it took a little more effort than I bargained for. Needless to say, I think it might be awhile before make it again!
Now that fall has settled in, we picked back up with our monthly cousin breakfast tradition. My kids look forward to that time like nothing else, and it fills my heart getting to watch them soak up those relationships. We’ve also been spoiled with beautiful weather this season, and I think we made the most of every warm day we were given.
We wrapped up the month with all the Halloween fun…taking our pool down, carving pumpkins, and trick-or-treating with cousins. This year’s costumes were a mix of spooky, silly, and very “kid culture”: a bat trio, Freddy Fazbear, and Mira from Kpop Demon Hunters. Pure chaos, pure joy.
But the biggest highlight of all…and maybe the biggest moment of our entire year…is that we bought our first farm!!!!!! We are excited, nervous, grateful, overwhelmed…all the emotions rolled into one. This new chapter feels huge, and we’re still letting it sink in. More on that adventure to come!
October was full of memories, change, and sunshine, but mostly full of gratitude. Here’s to cozy November days ahead. Until next month…
