{A Recap to the Start of the Year}
January is one of the biggest months of the year for our family! All three kiddos’s birthdays belong to this month and are only 6 days apart! So needless to say, we begin every year with a bang! This year it felt like we celebrated almost all month long! Ok, maybe not all month long but, for sure the last couple of weeks! About mid-month, we surprised all three with a trip to Wisconsin Dells for a long weekend with cousins! This was our first time to the Dells and we filled the weekend with tons of waterpark and arcade time. Most of my pictures from my big camera are from the arcade, as I didn’t want to risk my camera at the waterpark. Our entire family tried the rock wall, which was my favorite part of the entire arcade. Eden almost made it to the top of the wall–she was SO close! Joe, of course, dominated all levels including the extra hard. I was just glad I made it to the top on the medium level, haha!
The following weekend, we celebrated again with our annual birthday party with grandparents. We are currently obsessed with Super Mario so it was an easy decision for a party theme. Each kiddo entered a new level (level 10 and level 7) on this day, as we took pictures under a character balloon arch complete with mushrooms and golden stars, and dug into a Mario world cake. Oren also loves Pokemon so we add a Pikachu cake just for him. As they grow older and older, I realize there will come a day when these birthday parties will no longer be exciting to them. They will no longer want fun cakes or decorations, and may even want to spend the day with their friends instead of family. That day will be here before I know it. So I continue on my mission to cherish every moment of these days as much as I can.
Until next month…
