{A Classic Gold and Champagne Wedding at The Shores}
Who would have thought that the last day of summer would give us 91 degree heat in September!?!? Quite a rare occasion for Iowa! And then, like the flip of a switch, the very next day, fall came rushing in with much, much cooler temps. Certainly an aspect of Halie and Nick’s wedding day that nobody will forget! Queue the Earth, Wind and Fire song, “Do you remember, the 21st night of September?” And what a beautiful night it was! Halie and Nick were surrounded by 300+ of their closest friends and family as they committed to each other forever! The full mass ceremony at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bancroft was absolutely beautiful and quite peaceful! This church is stunning and I feel so fortunate to have photographed there twice this season! Halie wore an incredible Watters gown complete with sheer long sleeves and fully adorned with pearls from top to bottom. Nick now wears his grandfather’s wedding band after vows were exchanged. After the ceremony, the couple dined, drank and danced the night away at The Shores at Five Island. My favorite part of this day was seeing how much Halie and Nick love on their nieces and nephews. I could clearly tell the children adore them just as much, giving them hugs at every opportunity. If Halie and Nick ever decide to become parents, I know they will fall into the roll seamlessly.
Halie and Nick, Congratulations!!!!!! I couldn’t be more excited for you two! I hope you are enjoying these first few days as husband and wife. It was truly an honor to capture your day and to witness the love, not only the two of you share together, but also the love between your close knit circle of family and friends. Your maid of honor, Amanda, said it best, your group of friends is something rare and special. Never take for granted those extraordinary people in your lives. I hope you enjoy your wedding day from my eyes!
