{An Iowa Engagement Session in Grassy Pastures at Sunset}
It’s not very often that I get to photograph in our pasture before Joe cuts parts of the grass for hay baling. But last Thursday evening, Mckennan, Zane and I got a special treat! We were able to explore the entire pasture fully grown and untouched! Since these two high school sweethearts are from Livermore, I also wanted to take them to one of my favorite flower fields in town! We had the perfect June evening getting to know each other more and learning how they met and fell in love. Wildflowers + long flowing grass + gorgeous Iowa sunset + an adorable couple = the perfect engagement session!!!
Mckennan and Zane claim to be awkward in front of the camera but I beg to differ! I think they look incredibly natural in these images! It’s so important for photographers to know how to pose their clients not only in flattering ways but also comfortably. This builds confidence! I love it when couples let their guard down and trust that I will always capture their best sides. Mckennan and Zane were a little apprehensive at first because they don’t photograph themselves or each other often and that’s totally fine! Just a few minutes into their session with me and they quickly got the hang of it. I would even say by then end of the shoot, they became naturals!
These two will be getting married at the Humboldt County Historic Museum in September and I’m already so excited to see them again!! Thank you, Mckennan and Zane for trusting me during such a special season in your lives! Enjoy some of my favorites from this engagement session and get excited to see these two on the blog again this fall!
