{A Fall Wedding at the Laramar Ballroom in Fort Dodge, Iowa}
The day Deni and Tyler had been waiting for finally arrived, and Iowa came through with the most perfect fall day for late October! It felt like a world away from that warm, buggy August evening in my pasture during their engagement session!
Deni and Tyler decided against a first look, so I started the day with Deni, who got ready in the speakeasy, the Playmor Lounge, at the legendary Laramar Ballroom. It was the perfect fit, because the dark green and black hues matched their wedding decor so well. Once she was ready, we headed outside with her bridesmaids for portraits under the peak fall maple trees that line a beautiful street in downtown Fort Dodge. It was pure fall perfect!
From there I headed to Holy Trinity Catholic Church to photograph Tyler getting ready. Then, ceremony started flawlessly as Deni made her grand entrance into the sanctuary. The full Catholic mass ceremony was beautiful as the priest spoke about how having a loving, devoted spouse is a true gift from God…which felt so fitting for these two.
Afterward, we photographed bride and groom portraits during the peak fall lighting, both at the church and on that same maple-lined street in downtown Fort Dodge. Since we’d already gotten to know each other during their engagement session, they were so comfortable, and the little in-between moments were some of my favorites all over again!
Then it was time for the celebration at the Laramar Ballroom, beautifully decorated for an emerald and black affair! Deni and Tyler had learned a choreographed routine for their first dance, and it was epic. They pulled it off flawlessly!! After some incredibly caring and loving words from their family and friends, their guests danced the night away under a big “Manske” sign, their new shared last name.
Deni and Tyler are both are incredibly kind, and I admire how their faith is at the forefront of their relationship. Deni has modeled for and worked with so many photographers, so she’s seen plenty of styles and could have easily picked anyone. Out of all of them, she and Tyler chose me, and I’m not sure they realize how much that means! Thank you both for trusting me with such an important job and for letting me be a part of this very special season in your lives! I’m praying for the most beautiful first year of marriage for you both. You are both such lights and I can’t wait to see how God uses you and your marriage in powerful ways!! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Manske!
