{A Grassy Pasture Engagement Session}
I’m pretty sure God has a better love story planned for each of us than anything we could come up with on our own! Deni and Tyler’s story is one of those that makes your heart melt because you can see God’s hand woven through so many of the details. They first crossed paths in high school, even though they attended different schools. Deni didn’t quite remember Tyler at the time, but social media eventually gave them another opportunity to get to know each other. Somewhere along the way, Deni began praying about the man that she would, someday, spend the rest of her life with. She asked God to reveal a secret “password” when the time was right, and after her and Tyler’s second date, the password became very obvious. A special, little piece of their story that made her feel certain she was on the right path.
Then Tyler took that faith and made it part of their proposal. Deni had been attending OCIA classes, and Tyler was incredibly supportive throughout the process. After one of her classes, he took her to the front of the church and asked her to marry him. I mean…come on! 🥹 It doesn’t get much sweeter than that!
For their engagement session, we met out in our pasture on a warm August evening. And when I say warm…whew! 😂 Between the humidity and the bugs, we definitely earned these photos! But the evening light was absolutely beautiful, and Deni and Tyler made it incredibly easy. A couple that is easily made to be in front of the lens. They’re both a little shy and quiet, but the way they naturally gravitate toward each other says so much. Nothing felt forced. They were simply comfortable being near each other, and the little moments in between the poses ended up being some of my favorites.
Deni and Tyler already had engagement photos booked while they were vacationing in Hawaii (!!!)…so they technically didn’t need another engagement session. Because seriously…how epic!! But I offer an engagement session complimentary with my wedding package because I genuinely believe it is one of the best ways for us to get to know each other before the wedding day. Your wedding photographer is going to be with you for a LOT of the day. We’re there during some of the most emotional moments, the crazy moments, the joyful moments, and all of those little in-between moments. So I want you to know what it’s like to have me around before you’re standing at the altar. An engagement session gives us the perfect chance to figure out how we work together, get comfortable in front of the camera, and learn how I pose. And honestly? I get to learn you, too! I get to see how you interact, what makes you laugh, how you naturally love on each other, and what kind of direction feels comfortable for you. By the time your wedding day arrives, we’re not strangers with a camera. We’re already friends! And I think that’s pretty important!
Deni and Tyler, I am so excited that our time together is only just getting started!! Your wedding at the legendary Laramar Ballroom is just a couple of short months away, and I already know it’s going to be incredibly special! Thank you for trusting me to document this season and for allowing me to see a little glimpse into the beautiful, faith-filled relationship you’ve built! I can’t wait to celebrate you both!
