{An Iowa Farm Estate Wedding}
If you watched Dawson during his and Jade’s wedding ceremony, you didn’t need anyone to explain just how much this day meant to him. The moment Jade appeared at the end of the aisle, the tears started flowing. And for a man who is more reserved and doesn’t say much, his face said absolutely everything! She is his whole world! And honestly, that’s what I’ll remember most about their wedding day!
Jade and Dawson are both incredibly kind and a little more on the quiet side, but their love is anything but hard to see. It’s in the way they look at each other, the little smiles, the way they naturally gravitate toward one another, and especially in the way Dawson looks at Jade. Their wedding day took place on Dawson’s family farm, and it was about as quintessentially Iowa as you could imagine…in the very best way. Wide-open, beautiful grassy pasture, rustic details, hay bales for seats, and a ceremony overlooking the river made for the most gorgeous setting to begin their marriage. It felt peaceful and incredibly meaningful to say “I do” in a place that is so deeply connected to their family and their story.
Dawson’s dad had fully restored an old Ford truck, and naturally, Jade and Dawson wanted to incorporate it into their portraits. And all I can say is…Iconic. The combination of Jade in her beautiful wedding dress, Dawson, the old Ford, and the Iowa countryside was everything! Those images have such a timeless, nostalgic feel, and I have a feeling they’ll be favorites for a very long time.
After they were wed, we headed to the Pocahontas County Expo Center where their friends and family gathered to celebrate. Their families were truly some of the kindest people. From the moment I arrived, everyone was so welcoming, warm, and accommodating. It was easy to see how Jade and Dawson grew into the people they are surrounded by so much love and support. The rest of the evening was spent exactly as it should be…dancing, laughing, celebrating, and soaking in every bit of the day with the people who mean the most to them.
Jade and Dawson, thank you for letting me be part of such an important day and for welcoming me so warmly into your family celebration! When I photographed Jade’s senior photos five years ago, never would I have guessed I would be witnessing and photographing your marriage. These moments make me especially grateful for this job. I don’t just get to photograph pretty pictures. Sometimes, I get to watch people grow, change, fall in love, and begin entirely new chapters…and somehow, I get invited along for the ride. And I have you to thank for the beautiful and fun ride! I hope you two spend the rest of your lives only growing deeper in the love that you share! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Knobloch!
