{Early Spring Maternity Session in Northern Iowa}

I don’t think I will ever get bored seeing my past wedding clients become parents! We celebrated with Lauryn and Matt in 2023 as they were wed and now it’s an amazing honor to be invited back into their lives to capture this very special season! I couldn’t be more thrilled for these two as they enter the exciting adventure of parenthood!

We started their session out in studio, because we all know spring weather in Iowa is completely unpredictable. This day in particular was quite windy…like, hurricane-force-winds windy. Luckily, I have a spot I love at Water’s Edge Nature Center that is a wonderful wind block with exceptional lighting. It’s truly a win-win location for a photographer on crazy spring days. I did, however, talked Matt and Lauryn into venturing out into the grass field at the end of our session to create some breezy/field magic with Lauryn’s flowy maxi dress. These are my favorite images of the entire session and really solidifies why I love maxi dresses so much! Ahh…this is why I’m always encouraging my clients to wear them!

Matt and Lauryn are the sweetest couple and I can only imagine the kind of incredible parents they will become! Their personalities remind me a lot of Joe and I. Matt is more quiet and reserved, while Lauryn is a bit more outgoing. Both can be such a great balance while parenting, but regardless, both will be exactly what their baby girl will need in this world. Lauryn and Matt–you’re about to meet someone who will change your world in the best, most beautiful, chaotic way — and I know you’re going to kill it! I cannot wait to meet your precious baby girl! Cheers to starting the greatest adventure of your life!
