{An Iowa Fall Engagement Session}
November light in Iowa is always so magical, when it’s not taken over by clouds. The autumn sun is further in the south these days, and since Iowa is in the northern hemisphere, shadows are longer more throughout the day. This makes for really great lighting almost any time of the day. But I rarely get to photograph in it because Iowa Novembers bring mostly clouds and the frigid temperatures are hard to bare for most. This year, in particular, has been exceptionally warm and sunny, and I have been so grateful for the time outdoors recently. Kylie and Drake’s engagement session is no exception to the amazing weather we have been having! Lighting is such a huge component to photography and this day was fill with an abundance of gorgeous lighting. Because of this, I had a really hard time narrowing down favorites! It also doesn’t help that these two are so cute and so comfortable in front of the camera!
Kylie and Drake met on Tinder and starting dating on Valentine’s Day almost two years ago. Last month while vacationing in Denver to see the Broncos play the Raiders, Drake suggested they hike the Manitou Incline in Manitou Springs. At about 2/3rds of the way, Drake pulled Kylie aside and proposed! Talk about a breathtaking proposal over a breathtaking view! He even made sure to prop up his phone to film the proposal without Kylie knowing! I absolutely loved my time with these two during their session. They are so sweet and so incredibly in love with each other, it’s easy to see! We took WAY too many portraits and had so much fun! I can’t wait to show up on their wedding day and work with them all over again! I know Kylie will be a STUNNING bride!
Kylie and Drake, enjoy the overflow of favorites that I just couldn’t leave out!
