{A Recap of Our July}
Another epic July is in the books! We had so much fun, I wish it would have never ended! Recapping this month is making me a little sad that summer is almost over and school will be starting soon. Can’t we just squeeze in one more full month of summer?!?!
We kicked off the month celebrating the 4th of July at home with cousins, hanging out in the pool and grilling. The next day, we ate breakfast and birthday cake at Remi and Hayes’s house for my birthday. Later that evening, Joe surprised me with a limo full of friends to celebrate! If you follow my social media accounts then you have already seen the highlights. Joe definitely outdid himself and, needless to say, it was one of the best birthdays ever!!
As we continued into the month, we decided to build a giant slip and slide down the hill into the pasture. This was the best decision ever!! We picked up large plastic tarps from Bomgaars and stapled them into the lawn, with the final dimensions coming to 20 x 200ft!! We also set up sprinklers along the sides and blew up several river tubes, making sure to keep both the tubes and tarp soapy for a smooth ride. Mom and dad spent most of our time pushing kids down the hill, but it was completely worth it to see those smiles on their faces! I think Slip and Slide Day will definitely be on the summer schedule for next year! The following weekend, we attended Livermore Daze for more fun. This year the kids had a blast at the parade, water fights and nerf gun wars!
The month was also full of weekly entertainment like VBS and tons of library time. But the best part of July was our vacation! We ended the month with an 8 day camping trip to Cutty’s in Okoboji. Our trip included Arnold’s park, the boardwalk, Preservation Plaza, lots of boating, the waterpark and the beach, endless ice cream, and last but not least, mini putt. We had so much fun, I know our kids will be talking about this trip until next summer!
Since then, the excitement hasn’t ended! We are trying to soak up all the summer goodness before school begins! So, until next month…
