{A Recap of Our Spring}
This spring was slow and steady, the calm before the busy storm of summer. The warmer than normal temperatures had us doing new things like jumping through the sprinkler in cowgirl boots before leaves sprouted on the trees, haha! One of our favorite monthly traditions is breakfast with cousins and bottomless mimosas for the parents. Something everyone looks forward to every month! 😉 We are so thankful to have some cousins that live close by to grow up and create amazing memories with!
With the school year coming to an end, fun activities always come along. Liella received a maple tree from school on Earth Day, so we planted it along with 25 pine trees in the pasture and are praying they grow. We have had horrible luck growing trees in years past but Liella has been a big help this spring with watering. She also participated in her first Bullpup Relay! It’s so fun to see her skills put to work! I wonder if she will be a track star like her grandma??
Joe and I spent the last week of school in Vegas, mostly for a work conference, but we also spent some time celebrating our 15 year anniversary. I hired my friend Nicole Laing to photograph us as a way to commemorate this milestone. I took my wedding dress out of preserved storage for a few images, and the little bit of mud on the bottom inside was totally worth it! Over the years, I came to the realization that it’s a little sad to see your wedding dress forever in a box, untouched. Why not wear it again?!?! After putting it on, I fell in love with it all over again and all the amazing memories from our wedding day came flooding back. These images are so special to me!
The remainder of spring was spent creating outdoor adventures, celebrating Joe’s birthday and performing in the year end dance recital. I really enjoy watching these kiddos grow in their dance skills every year! This year’s theme was 90’s Remix so it took every bit of me to not get up and dance along too! HAHA! Energy Dance always delivers a fabulous show and we are thankful to be a part of such a fun dance studio!
Now on to summer! Until next month…
I had the kiddos fake a “last day of school” picture since Joe and I were gone that week. Hehe!
