{A Recap of Our December}
Another December has come and gone, with each year creating more and more memories doing all of our favorite traditions with all of our favorite people. We kicked off the month baking Christmas goodies, the one time of year that I bake, and I may or may not have struggled a bit this year. I will say though, the cutout cookies were probably the best I had ever done, they were delicious! But as for all the other goodies, let’s just say that I’ve had better years, HAHA! The next day, our cousins came over and we decorated gingerbread houses together! There is a strong possibility that more candy was consumed then actually decorated.
The following weekend we met up with our cousins again to eat breakfast with Santa. No tears were had and everyone LOVED their time with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. On the third weekend of the month, Joe and I started a new tradition by creating a fancy dinner at home for our kiddos. We set out all of our elegant dishes, put on our finest clothes and feasted like royalty. The kids LOVED our fun dinner, especially getting to use tea cups and wine glasses to drink from. I think it’s safe to say, we will be repeating this new tradition!
We spent Christmas Eve with Joe’s family which meant that we got to spend the entire Christmas morning at home. We usually have to rush off early in the day to start many Christmas parties so I can’t tell you how much this time with our kids on Christmas morning meant to me! Later that afternoon, at my family’s Christmas, the Grinch showed up and took all the kiddos gifts! They quickly realized that giving the Grinch a big hug warmed his heart and he returned all the gifts. Papa sure makes a great Grinch! 😉
These are the best days. As an entrepreneur, often times I am so focused on the next big thing, or the next goal that I need to accomplish. Sometimes it can consume me, and all I can think about is work and where I want to be at in my business or where I “should” be. I have to remind myself that life itself is enjoyable even without all the wins. This last year I wanted to focus more on family time and the biggest thing that 2023 has taught me is……..I’ve already made it. I have reached the top. It doesn’t go up from here and there is nothing more I need to accomplish. These days with our people are truly the best days.
Until next month…
