{A Recap of Our June}
Summer is in full swing over here in the Behounek household! Since the beginning of June, we hit the ground running and haven’t looked back since! We started the month out with the kiddo’s dance recital. This year Oren joined in the fun by attending the tumblebug class. He LOVED it! He was always so excited for class days and even made some new friends. (Side note, if you know Oren then you know he is probably one of the friendliest kids around. He is constantly saying hi to strangers and striking up a conversation. He loves people and creating relationships with them. This is one of my favorite parts of his personality!) It’s so awesome to see what the students and teachers have been learning and working on all year. Also, I can’t get over their adorable costumes! Energy Dance & Tumbling Co. creates such an amazing show every year and this year was no different! The recital’s theme focused on recognizing military veterans and people in service careers with a portion of the ticket sales going to Moving Veterans Forward. I love being a part of this community where giving back and investing into it holds such a high value.
After recital, Joe and I headed out on an adult only vacation to the Black Hills with my family. We visited some of the same places I had seen as a child when we took this vacation, including Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Needles Highway, Bear Country and Deadwood. Some of my all-time favorite memories ever were created on this trip and I hope it’s something we can do more often in the future. A couple of my sisters weren’t able to make this trip sadly, so it’s definitely a must to plan another adventure sometime soon to include the whole bunch. Joe and I brought home geodes as souvenirs for the kids and they LOVED breaking them open to see what was inside. We rounded out the month with tons of outside fun and gearing up for the next month of summer! Spoiler alert: the fun continues!!!!
Until next month…
