{A Classic Wedding at The Opera House in Fort Dodge}
The day started out with heavy, overcast clouds and rain, a bride’s worst nightmare. Megan and James are such a laid back couple, so the rain didn’t seam to bother them much. But as the morning rolled through, the rain slowed and eventually stopped just in time for their first look! We were so fortunate the weather ended up being just perfect for portraits at Kennedy Park, a stunning backdrop for a wedding! The ceremony and reception took place at the Opera House in Fort Dodge, which was my first time at Fort Museum. It’s such a quaint and rustic venue and was just perfect for all of James and Megan’s closest family and friends. After the ceremony, Megan made a quick change into a new dress just for the reception. I’m loving this trend, it’s fun and creates a new wow-factor for wedding guests! Many people mentioned that James would break down and tear up the entire day, but to my surprise, he held it together quite well. But when it came time for toasts and honoring his father who could not be here on earth to help celebrate, the tears from many in the room started flowing. I have never met him but I knew he must have been a special man, not only to James but many of his friends as well.
James and Megan: Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your perfect day! It’s such an honor to be right next to your family and friends celebrating the love that you two share. I hope you are soaking in every moment of this new season. As you scroll through some of my favorite images, I hope you enjoy reliving the day through my eyes!
