{An Iowa Grassy Pasture Engagement Session}
As a wedding photographer, I am fully aware that portraits are not the groom’s favorite part of the day. I could probably go as far as to stay that for some grooms, it’s probably the worst part of the day. Definitely a wedding day activity that many do not look forward to. I also know that when the groom shows up to the engagement session, he is mostly likely only there for his future bride. Because he knows that this session will make HER happy. So as a photographer, I fully believe that it is my job to make the groom feel as comfortable as possible. Well, as comfortable as you can be posing in front of a camera with a stranger you may have just met only a few minutes before. 😂 A tough task to take on, I know! But I truly want both the bride and groom to have FUN during their session. I want them to realize that taking portraits can be really enjoyable. I think I achieved just that with Madeline and Jeremiah. In fact, when the session was finished, Jeremiah’s exact words were, “I actually had fun.” I’m so glad he told me because those words absolutely made my day!! I value the experience of physically taking the photos just as much or more than the final outcome/product, the portraits themselves. When my clients value that as well then it’s a HUGE win for me and further solidifies why I do what I do. Taking photos DO NOT have to suck! 😊
Madeline and Jeremiah are high school sweethearts and also attended the same youth group. Jeremiah proposed to Madeline by attaching the ring to the pup Archie’s collar. How precious!! The love and joy they have for each other is clear as you scroll through these images. I LOVE their big smiles! It really shows just how happy they are together! I’m excited to celebrate them this November and I hope you enjoy all my favorites of these two love birds!
I LOVE Madeline’s tattoo of her great grandparents, grandparents and parents wedding dates!
