{An Urban Senior Session in Downtown Fort Dodge}
I feel so inspired when I’m in new locations and even more so when the location boasts beautiful architect! So when Doris said she wanted to shoot her senior session in downtown Fort Dodge, I was allllll for it!!!! We stayed in the same area of about 4-5 blocks and there was endless possibilities! Including a hidden old warehouse building that was covered in gorgeous fall foliage! Probably my favorite location of her entire shoot!
Doris brought along a super cute hat from Mexico, that her brother gave her, to represent her heritage, and she also brought along her friend, Seth. Let me tell you, everyone needs a friend like Seth! He helped Doris with her hair, her hat and held her coat! He even treated Doris to dinner after her session because he said, “It’s her day, today.” What!?!?!? How flippin sweet!
Doris will be the first in her family to graduate high school. I can’t imagine how incredibly proud her parents are! After graduation, she plans to attend college and major in psychology. Her goal is to become a school counselor or a therapist for children. This year, I have had several seniors interested in this same field and I am beyond proud of these kids for having a passion to help children and teens! Mental health is extremely stigmatized and is never talk about enough. Truthfully mental illness is terribly common and, sadly, I can only imagine a world where talking about seeing a therapist is as normal as talking about seeing a hair stylist. I have no doubt that these seniors, including Doris, with be instrumental in paving a new way for our future! Doris–I already know you will do SO MANY amazing things! Congratulations on your senior year!!
