{A Fall Engagement Session in Central Iowa}

I remember photographing Thad and his family for the first time almost 10 years ago! Whoa! I’ve photographed the Fogarty family almost every year since, including Thad’s senior images. And, now he’s getting MARRIED to his high school sweetheart, Ashlyn! Eeekk!! Joe and I have been together since freshman year in high school, so high school sweethearts always have a special place in my heart! These two are the sweetest couple and super busy! Thad proposed to Ashlyn this summer at Dolliver State Park and there’s been no slowing down since! After both recently graduating from the University of South Dakota, Ashlyn has decided to continue her education to receive a MBA in psychology all while working full time and planning a wedding!! Crazy!

We had the most perfect fall day for their shoot! The trees still had leaves, the temperature was just right, the light was gorgeous and the setting was so colorful! You won’t believe this, especially after looking at their photos, but Ashlyn shared that she was a little nervous beforehand.  I understand why. It’s such a huge unknown when you don’t typically get your photos taken. Thankfully, Ashlyn was a natural. She didn’t know this about herself until she got in front of the camera but she’s so good at this! Thad is too! It makes me so excited for their wedding next summer in Okoboji!!!

I think this is a chicken?!?! 😂😂 This little creature kept creeping up on us during the first part of the session! The only thing that keeps repeating in my head is, “The chicken lives!” 😂 Any Moana fans out there? No?? 😂 Either way, it’s beautiful!!!
