{Authentic Boho/Hippie Wedding with Many Unique Traditions}

I have been excited for Katlyn and Brad’s wedding day since Katlyn booked last year! I knew it was going to be incredibly unique and well thought out! Katlyn and Brad have a very authentic boho/hippie style that I just adore! I’ve known Katlyn for a few years now and I love her all natural and genuine personality. Every aspect of their wedding day represented the couple and their little family perfectly. From the nature inspired wedding bands to the freshly picked wildflower arrangements, all details were true, authentic, vintage boho. Can you believe Katlyn made her bouquet herself, picking all the flowers from a field the day before?!?!? Just gorgeous!!!

It was important to Katlyn to have a First Look with, not only Brad, but also their little boys and her dad. All three were not short of any emotion. Such precious moments! The wedding ceremony started out with a toast that was shared with all guests. Next, Katlyn and Brad shared their vows to each other, which they had written themselves. Brad actually wrote a BEAUTIFUL indie folk song to Katlyn and I could tell she worked really hard to hold back the tears. After vows, they exchanged rings, then included their sons in a tree planting unity ceremony. The new family tree will be planted at their home and I am obsessed with this unique tradition! Following the ceremony they exited with a dried herb toss featuring sage, basil and lavender. The outdoor reception included fresh picked wildflower arrangements, grilled cheese and tomato soup hors d’oeuvres, a canoe bar, and mini pies. Guests could even create their own hot chocolate or apple cider drink and keep a handmade mason jar koozie as a gift. The grand reception entrances incorporated an ancient Viking ritual called bride-running where the two wedding parties would race to the meal and whoever lost would serve beer to the winning party all night long. Can you guess who won? Haha!

It was such an honor to be the one capturing this day! I loved getting to meet Katlyn and Brad’s families, celebrate alongside of them and documenting their love!!! Enjoy reliving the day through my eyes!
