{My Sister Documents Her Breastfeeding Journey}
All mama’s know, breastfeeding is no easy feat. It’s a natural process but the journey itself, doesn’t come naturally. It’s painful and can take months to develop a decent supply. There is always something to be constantly cautious about, like a clogged duct, mastitis, tongue or lip tie, trouble latching or improper latch, or even a nursing strike. Not to mention the mamas who have given so much time and energy, basically everything they have and still, could never produce enough milk to provide for their children. My sister, Brandee’s journey is definitely one for the books! Having celiacs disease, she entered into her journey already with a slight setback, meaning she can’t just eat whatever she wants, whenever she wants to keep a balanced diet (so essential to developing and maintaining a good supply). Which, let’s face it, eating alllllll the snacks is my favorite part of breastfeeding HAHA! On top of that, early in her journey she has found that both her children have had a sensitivity to dairy. Taking out gluten and dairy really makes it hard to find quick, yummy snacks to curb hunger and keep supply up. But Brandee does it so gracefully! The second time around and she has the process down packed! It’s obvious since baby Kinnick is not even 5 months old yet and wearing 12-18 months clothes! SAY WHAT!?!?! I think he’s getting all the nutrients he needs! HAHA! I’m sooooo glad she wanted to document this important journey and really special accomplishment in her life. I’m totally kicking myself for not doing this with my kiddos!! I wanted to do a breastfeeding session with the twins but never set the time aside. I might be a little jealous that she will always have these beautiful images of this special time in her life.
Not only is Brandee killing it in the mom department, but she is also one kick-ass entrepreneur/business owner and I admire her determination and the confidence she has in herself. She’s the one person I can rely on that would understand the highs and lows of business ownership with me. Because of this, starting in 2021, Brandee will be taking over Joe’s job as my wedding assistant and I’m so flipping excited to see us work together! She’s outgoing, funny, personable and so kind! She has some pretty big shoes to fill, as Joe is always so good at knowing what I need and how I like things, but I think it won’t take her long to catch on! 😉 Brandee–you are a beautiful mom and human being! I LOVE that you like to do all the fun sessions that most people won’t do. I can not wait for 2021 with you!!
**Disclaimer: I am a mama that strongly believes in FED is best! I know first hand how extremely hard breastfeeding is and I praise mamas who do what’s best for herself and her child.
