{Happy Birthday to Our Babies!}

Our babies are 2 today!!!! TWO!!!! I remember the day they were born like it was yesterday. They were born at 5:30 in the evening and I finally didn’t get some rest until 4am! And then it was back up at 6am to feed them! Our entire four day stay at the hospital was filled with a constant barrage of doctors and nurses. I had my own doctor and nurse and the babies each had their own nurse but shared one doctor, different from mine. But it was hardly ever the same doctor or nurse that came in each time! Influenza was running rapid that year so we weren’t allowed any guests to visit. I don’t think I would have had time for them anyways with the constant in-and-out of doctors and nurses PLUS learning to breast feed two new babies. Our lives with these two new additions hasn’t slowed down since day one! Funny story about the flu…coincidentally Joe tested positive for influenza B two days before I gave birth!!!!!! Since the hospital was on such a tight lock down we were so afraid that they wouldn’t let him be there! But thankfully they did!! He just had to wear a mask during our entire stay!! And thankfully I did not test positive for the flu or I wouldn’t have gotten to see the babies for the first 24 hours! I’ve added some throwbacks photos at the end of this post 😉

Eden is such a sweetheart! But she can be a spitfire when she wants to! She knows what she wants and does everything in her power to get it…no matter what…and she’s sneaky! She loves all stuffed animals and blankets, basically anything soft. She adores baby dolls and follows her big sister almost everywhere, doing everything she does. She is so soft spoken…except when she says the word “no.” Haha! Recently she has been interested in the potty and loves to sit on it. She’ll sit on it for hours! She loves to clean and wipe down any surface she can reach. But my favorite thing she loves to do is give kisses!

Oren is very much a sweetie too but if one thing sets him off then he’ll be fussy the rest of the day. He’s a bit picky. He’s also a little bit more sensitive then Eden but that’s probably because she is always taking his toys. Haha! He loves anything with wheels and has a huge interest in daddy’s tools. He is our snuggler and will climb up on my lap at anytime to sit with me. Which of course I adore since Liella was/is the complete opposite. He is also our helper and loves to help pick up or put things away. Oren can babble on and on in conversation that not a soul can comprehend but he knows exactly what he is saying.

These two are complete polar opposites and fight quite often. But there are moments when they hug and kiss each other and it just melts my heart away!! I hope when they grow, their bond together will only strengthen. They share something so special that no one can replace and I’m so thankful I get a front row seat to experience it!! I still have a hard time calling them twins. Most know that Joe and I have traveled a hard journey to conceive our children, and through IVF I became pregnant with two babies at one time. And since they have always been so different we have always called them the “babies.” Now that they are full blown toddlers it’s hard to call them “babies” still. BUT they will always and forever be MY babies! Happy Birthday sweet dear little ones!

Can you tell which one can’t sit still?? I’ll give you a hint…it’s the one with the least amount of images. HAHAHA!
