{A Fun Country Club Wedding in Algona, IA}

This last weekend I had the opportunity to photograph the day that Laurie and Shane vowed themselves to each other for eternity. They first met in college 20 years ago while running track at Buena Vista University. After all these years of battling ups and downs and enduring a long distance relationship, these two finally combined their beautiful families into one.

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day at the Algona Country Club in early August! Usually the temperatures are just unbearable but this day they were quite reasonable. The gorgeous trees and rolling hills made for the perfect backdrop. The day started off with portraits at the golf course and then on to St Cecelia’s Catholic Church for the ceremony. Laurie, Shane and their family are so incredibly sweet and I love their fun attitude! We laughed a ton and had a blast making all the silly faces for the camera!

My favorite part of the entire day was, hands down, the toasts! There was so much emotion filled within the words of Laurie and Shane’s family members! From laughter to tears, I could really feel the love that their family members have for this sweet couple. They are so involved in the success of Laurie and Shane together that it was truly inspiring. They love and welcome each other’s children as if it was always meant to be. After getting a bigger glimpse of Laurie and Shane’s lives together through the eyes of their loved ones, I can definitely see where all those emotions come from. I may only share one full day together with my couples but always leave feeling like I have made friends and have shared in a small but meaningful part of my client’s special day!! It truly is a dream job!

Congratulations Laurie and Shane!!!!! I couldn’t be more excited for you two, from now until forever!!! Enjoy your wedding day from my perspective!
