{1 Year Session}
I’ve always heard other photographers say how difficult it is to photograph their own children but, I never really seen it that way before. That is, until I photographed Eden and Oren’s 1 year session! These two really made it a challenge for me haha! Not only did I have to work around busy schedules, crummy weather, and a period of constant illness, I also knew that Eden was going to make it especially difficult. She started walking around 10 months old so I knew with just that single factor that pictures were going to be a disaster! A new-walking baby never wants to sit still. They can now fully experience everything the world has to offer so why would they want to sit for a second! But, hey, I’m always up for a good challenge! 😉
Eden has been walking for a few months now but Oren really has no desire to start. And this mama is completely ok with that! I know that once he starts the difficulty level will jump up a couple more notches. Plus his little side knee step is pretty cute! He also popped his first tooth about a month ago and is sporting the single bottom tooth look these days. Both babies love to cuddle much more than Liella ever wanted to but Oren definitely loves to cuddle with me the most. Joe would say that he is a mama’s boy and I secretly love this! He’s starting to pack on a few more pounds as well. At their one year well-check appointment he had jumped up from the 9th percentile to the 25th percentile so it will be interesting to see where he will be at their 15 month appointment coming up. They are both little peanuts though. They eat so much constantly but I have no idea where they keep it all!
Eden has developed quite the vocabulary, in her own language of course, and talks on the regular but is very soft spoken. She loves watching her older sister with everything she does and copies her often. Her hair is starting to really grow out too. It took a while to start growing but the last few months it has really exploded with growth. She’s started the climbing phase and is always climbing up on the couch and the kiddie table and chairs set. And, of course, she loves to explore in all the things that she’s not suppose to.
These two have really made a huge impact on our lives and, of course, we wouldn’t have it any other way! We are so unbelievably lucky they are healthy, happy babies that eat and sleep well. And I can’t wait until even more of their personalities develop. I pray they always know how special the bond is between each other. I pray they always know that siblings are your first and best best-friends. And I pray they can always turn to each other in any time of need or support. I’m so excited for their future and our futures together!
Much Love,
Carissa
