{A Natural Senior Session at Water’s Edge Nature Center and Smith Lake}

Ellie was the perfect senior to kick off Class of 2027 season! From the moment she arrived, Ellie brought such a sweet and calming presence to her session. She may be a little on the quieter side at first, but it didn’t take long to see just how kind and genuine she is. Getting the opportunity to spend the evening with her and learn more about who she is beyond the activities and accomplishments was one of my favorite parts of the session.

We started the evening in the studio before heading out to enjoy one of the most perfect June nights. From a quick stop at Eagle Hills Golf Course to the beautiful scenery at the nature center and Smith Lake, every location seemed to fit Ellie so naturally. The soft summer light and relaxed pace of the evening made for the perfect combination.

As an Algona High School senior, Ellie stays busy with softball, volleyball, and golf, but her interests extend far beyond athletics. She also loves making art, sewing, and reading…creative hobbies that speak so much to who she is. There’s a certain creativity about Ellie that shined through during her session, and it makes perfect sense that she hopes to pursue interior or graphic design after high school. Both paths seem like a wonderful fit for someone who is artistic, thoughtful, and detail-oriented.

When she’s not busy with school or sports, you’ll likely find her spending time with friends and family or enjoying time at the lake. Those are often the things I love learning most about my seniors because they tell the story of who they are right now in this season of life.

Ellie, thank you for trusting me to capture this exciting chapter! It was such a joy getting to know you better and spending the evening together! You have such a sweet spirit that makes you so easy to be around. I have no doubt that whatever path you choose after graduation, you are going to do amazing things!!
