{A Soft Pastel Wedding at The Shores at Five Island}

Some wedding days are full of high energy, nonstop schedules, and a fast pace from start to finish. And then there are wedding days like Kylie and Justin’s—calm, joyful, and so beautifully laid back. Everything flowed effortlessly, and the entire day felt like a reflection of who they are: grounded, gracious, and full of love for each other and the people around them.

Every part of their celebration was filled with ease and quiet joy—but there was one moment that stood out and left me in tears: the father-daughter dance. It’s not the dance you are thinking…this one had a twist. It was Justin’s dance with his sweet daughter Thea. During the dance, Thea started softly saying “mama… mama…” from his arms. Without hesitation, Kylie stepped in, and the three of them shared a moment so tender and real it had the whole room holding their breath…and me behind the camera in an absolute puddle.

It’s hard to put into words what an honor it’s been to walk with this family through so many milestones. From their engagement, to maternity, to baby Thea’s sweetest milestones, and now their wedding day. I’ve witnessed and captured the most meaningful seasons of their story. How could I ever fully express the joy and gratitude I feel to be trusted with those moments?

Kylie and Justin, thank you for inviting me in to your journey…not just as your photographer, but as someone who’s gotten to witness all the love that surrounds you and the beautiful life you’re building. Your wedding was a reflection of all the best things: family, grace, joy, and quiet strength. What a gift it was to be there.
