{A Humboldt, IA Senior Session}
Fall senior sessions are well underway and we kicked off the month of October with Shelby, celebrating everything she loves about high school! First up was golf! It was my first time stepping foot on the Humboldt Golf Course and I was surprised to see so many really beautiful photo spots along the river. Of course, we took advantage of the foliage just starting to turn! Shelby’s love for golf stems from her dad who also golfed in high school. They enjoy spending their time together golfing. After the golf course, we headed to Humboldt High School to highlight Shelby’s amazing band accomplishments! Shelby actually plays multiple instruments, but for her senior images we focused just on her trumpet. We finished up her session on her dad’s freshly harvested bean field at sunset. Her pink floral dress matched perfectly with the pink October sky! It was important to Shelby to create an image holding portraits of her great grandparents and grandma who have all passed this year. Shelby has such a loving soul and when she shed a few tears after I took those images, I knew these were very special people in her life. Luckily, this isn’t the first time I have photographed Shelby, as she is a big part of TEAM 25, CBS Senior Spokesmodel team!
Shelby, a Humboldt High School student, enjoys golfing, playing/listening to music, shopping and spending time with family and friends. In school, she is involved in marching band, pep band, jazz band, concert band and golf. After high school, Shelby plans to attend college to achieve a criminal justice degree. She is also contemplating joining the Army Reserves and later becoming a police officer.
Shelby–you bring so much light and joy in this dark world! You have a way of making others feel truly seen and cared for, and that’s such a rare gift! As you go through this last year of high school, I hope you remember how incredible you are! Keep spreading that love and positivity, because the world could use more people like you. No matter what comes next, I know you’ll continue to touch so many lives with your caring spirit.
