{A Classic Black and White Wedding at Downtown Des Moines Marriott}
Oh where do I begin? This wasn’t just another wedding for me. This was a legacy wedding that I have been looking forward to ever since the news broke that Dustin had finally proposed to Jenna!
What does it mean to be a “legacy” wedding? I would love to explain! I first photographed my brother-in-law’s wedding 7 years ago as he married one of the Reding daughters. During this time, I was able to get to know the Reding family a little bit more and eventually they became a big part of our lives, with my new sister-in-law becoming one of my best friends. Then, I had the honor of capturing Jadi and Luke’s gorgeous wedding at the Conservatory in 2022! This past weekend, I photographed Jenna and Dustin’s amazing wedding at the stunning Downtown Des Moines Marriott! All three sisters were CBS Brides and I just can’t express how special that is to me! Not only that, but they have become such incredible friends of mine over the past several years!
I knew from day one that this wedding was going to be special. After 8 years of dating, it was finally Jenna’s turn for her fairytale wedding. And a fairytale it was! Jenna had meticulously planned every single detail all the way down to the beautifully engraved rings that read “Reding” she gifted to her sisters. This is the second wedding where I have seen these precious rings from Stamped and Finch and I think they are such a significant and meaningful gift to an all-girl family. After getting ready, Jenna and Dustin sharing their First Look and private vows, we headed to 801 Grand for portraits. A stunning location for a stunning wedding party. With only 15 minutes for bride and groom portraits, it was crunch time! Of course, Jenna and Dustin make posing look effortless.
Afterwards, we headed back to the hotel for a beautiful wedding ceremony, where family members “warmed” the rings and Jenna, Dustin and witnesses signed their marriage license in front of the crowd. Following the recessional, we headed to Hello Marjorie for cocktail hour then back to the Marriott for an elegant and lively reception. Toasts were given by several friends and family and it’s just a small testament to the incredibly caring and loving personalities of Jenna and Dustin. They are the type of people that make you feel like you belong to them and you just saw them last week. So friendly, so welcoming and just overall a dream client situation!
Jenna and Dustin, thank you for allowing me to capture this amazing season in your lives! Not only that, but also thank you for being such great friends! It’s truly an honor to see you both in front of my lens. I’m so overjoyed your day was flawless and everything you had dreamed of! Just as you have had 8 amazing years together, I’m praying for an eternity more full of happiness. I hope you enjoy reliving this incredible day through my eyes!
