{A Classic Sage and White Wedding In Humboldt Iowa}
When I left Nicole and Reed’s engagement session, I hopped in the car and thought, “They are just so much FUN!” I knew that once their wedding day was here it was going to be a party! I was right! These two were surrounded by such amazing family and friends on their wedding day, and there were special little moments that stuck out to me as I captured each part of the day. I loved watching Nicole’s sweet mom smile at her while she stood in her dress for the very first time on her wedding day. As a mama to two little girls, I can’t imagine how surreal it must have felt to see her baby girl on her wedding day. They both fought back tears as Nicole’s mom gifted her a small piece of rosary that belonged to Nicole’s grandmother.
Nicole and Reed’s first look was another special moment I adored. She looked amazing and he made sure that she knew it. I won’t repeat what he said, but those that know Reed best can probably guess, haha! Her girlfriends were just in awe of how gorgeous she was as well, and they made her entire day such a celebration! We photographed majority of the portraits on Reed and Nicole’s beautiful generational farm, which was such a sentimental element to the whole day. You all know I can’t deny a beautiful grassy pasture and their farm had acres of gorgeous meadows. I asked Nicole if she wanted to walk a foot or two into the grass, she instantly said, “Yes!” without any hesitation. The location and Nicole’s big, joyful smile makes these portraits my favorite images of the entire day! Nicole’s pup, Nala, even made an appearance in some portraits! She is such a model pup with her calm demeanor and big smile!
However, my favorite part of the day is watching Reed tear up as he held is new bride during their first dance. I cherish special dances because, if it hasn’t happened throughout the day yet, this is when the real and raw emotions start to emerge. And I am always right there tearing up along side the couple. There is just something about a soulful song and seeing an incredible love story unfold right in front of my eyes that gets me every time. It’s always such an honor to document these untouched moments.
As you scroll through this beautiful wedding day, I hope you enjoy this gorgeous couple as much as I do! Their smiles and their joy are contagious!!! Nicole and Reed, thank you for including us in your day! I’m so honored you brought us along!
