{A Clear Lake Family Session}

It’s so hard to believe that so much life has been lived since we first met Joe W. and introduced him to Joe’s cousin Lisa. After having multiple children and watching our wrinkles settle in, we still never skip a beat whenever we are together. We might not be able to pull late-nighters like we use to in our college days, but the conversation and laughs are still just the same. People say it’s hard to find friendships like this, but with Joe and Lisa, it’s comes easily to us. It’s been so fun watching these two become parents! Having multiple toddlers is ROUGH, but these two handle it with such a natural grace. Sometimes you just have to lean into the chaos and find the joy in it.

Clear Lake is a special place for the Wissinks, so naturally I had to photograph them on the family dock. We had the most beautiful, partly cloudy sunset which gave us a soft and pretty lighting situation. I made sure to capture one sitting and smiling image and, afterwards, I just let the chaos consume. The best emotions come out of what seems like turmoil in the moment, but honestly, it opens the door for me to create some of my favorite images of the entire session. When you have three 3 year olds and a 6 year old, pandemonium is bound to occur no matter how much you try to avoid it. But these moments are so fun and become fan favorites!

Joe and Lisa–thank you for remaining amazing friends after all these years, living a couple hours away and having multiple babies. I hope you enjoy these incredible memories below! Looking forward to creating many more years of memories with you guys! <3
