{A Recap of Our October}
Another great October is in the books for us! Of course, it was busy, but this year we made time to create tons of fun memories doing some new fall activities! The apples and pears were bountiful this year at Joe’s grandpa’s place so we took the kids over to pick a few. Joe canned homemade applesauce which has been such a special treat for the kids. Sadly, our busy schedules took over so we didn’t get to the pears before they rotted. Honestly, I’m not surprised, haha! Joe started taking over more of the combining on the farm this year and I had a jammed packed October session schedule. If you have ever done any canning, you know that it is an extremely time consuming activity. Every year we over plant our garden in hopes of doing tons of canning but it never quite unfolds how we had envisioned as our schedules take over.
Now that our schedules are starting to level out during the cold season, we’re excited to start a monthly breakfast with our cousins, Remi and Hayes! When I was a child, my mom would always make a big breakfast every Sunday, so Joe and I started our own tradition of making breakfast every weekend during the cold/slower months. It’s something so simple but I know our kiddos are going to cherish these memories forever, like I do! We finished off the month with a Halloween craft, pumpkin carving and trick-or-treating with cousins. Our adorable Princess Daisy, Princess Peach and Super Mario had a blast running door to door with Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion and acquired waaaay too much candy. I can’t believe they let me dress them together as a theme this year! My goal for next year is Thing 1, Thing 2 and Cat and the Hat….do you think they’ll let me dress them?? I’ll report back in a year, haha!
Until next month…
