{A Fall + Urban Senior Session in Humboldt, IA}

Photographing Sarah was a special treat because I photographed her brother’s senior portraits 2 years ago!!! It’s always so special to me when families invite me back into their lives for more important milestones! It was even more of an honor when she applied for the CBS Senior Spokesmodel team! Of course, with her sweet personality, she was a shoe-in for a spot on TEAM 24! Sarah is beyond adorable, inside and out and I really wanted to capture all of her personality in her portraits. She wanted her session to focus on the turning fall colors, downtown Humboldt (just like her brother) and her super cute Volkswagon Beetle. We started out at Sheldon Park which is incredibly beautiful this time of year! After we finished at the park, we headed downtown for a bit of an edgy feel. I LOVE the look of the Humboldt Public Library’s steps which is so fitting for a book lover like Sarah. The neutral cream tones really made her red shirt pop!

Sarah, a 2024 senior from Humboldt High School, loves running and reading. During her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and shopping. In school, she keeps herself very busy with cross country, track, speech, cheerleading, musical, play, Spanish club, prom committee, National Honor Society, Friends Club and her church youth group. After high school she plans to attend college but is undecided in her choice of study.

Sarah – I adore your personality and have loved getting to know you more this year on TEAM 24! Senior year is such an exciting time filled with so many “lasts.” It’s easy to get caught up in thoughts about the future—college, careers, and beyond. While it’s important to plan for what comes next, don’t forget to savor the present moment and fully embrace these “lasts.” Your senior year is a unique chapter in your life, and it’s worth appreciating every experience, every friendship, and every lesson.
