{A Simple Wedding in Emmetsburg, IA}

Alyssa and Grant’s wedding was the start of a 3 week wedding binge where I’ll be photographing 3 weddings 3 weekends in a row. I can confidently say the wedding binge has started out with a bang! I am DIEING over their GORGEOUS sunset images and Alyssa’s precious 2 week old honorary flower girl! When I first met these two at their engagement session, we walked around Water’s Edge Nature Center and I got to know their story. They both have been working so hard to remodel their acreage, themselves, and it was fun to hear the updates they’ve made since last February when their engagement session took place. They reminded me SO MUCH of Joe and I as we were building our home ourselves 9+ years ago. The pride they will have in their home will be unmatched.

There were so many parts of this day that I loved. I loved getting to know Alyssa and Grant’s families and friends. I also loved how wonderful they were to work with in the 90 degree heat. The most beautiful thing about a wedding day for me is seeing a couple realize that they just started a brand new chapter of their life TOGETHER! Grant and Alyssa’s anticipation for the moment when they were introduced as husband and wife made my heart so happy. It’s clear these two are so in love and I couldn’t be more honored to have witnessed it first hand!
