{An Urban + Farm Senior Session}

Violet is such a breathe of fresh air! I love her sophisticated, yet fun, look that really shows off her personality! We kicked off her senior session in downtown Algona behind Bub’s Pie Shop in a little garden oasis right in the heart of town. SO fitting for Violet because, if you know her, then you know she is a HUGE help around her family’s farm, Bode’s Moonlight Gardens. Bode’s grow a wide variety of fresh produce for the Kossuth County Farmer’s Market and, in the fall, offers a pick-your-own-pumpkin patch. After Bub’s garden, we headed over to Carnegie Library where Violet has been attending the farmer’s market every Saturday since she was born! But her look was far from “farmer’s market chic.” She glammed up her style with super cute sequin pants. I had so much fun trying to catch the light sparkling across her legs. These are some of my favorite images of the entire shoot! After strolling downtown, we headed out to Violet’s farm where I could really capture her in her element. Violet’s family grows just about any vegetable you can think of including pumpkins and sunflowers. They even have a few small colonies of bees! Just as we were beginning to shoot, one of the bees decided I was not welcomed on the farm and stung me! 😂 Thankfully I am not allergic! Just the price I pay to get the shot! 😂😉 We finished up her session with the most beautiful sunset at the end of her driveway. I’ve been so lucky to photograph Violet several times this summer as she is a member of TEAM 24, this year’s CBS Senior Spokesmodel team!

Violet, a 2024 senior from Bishop Garrigan, loves biking, running, card and board games, cleaning and organizing. During her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, hiking, playing pickleball or attending games or sporting events. In school, she keeps herself very busy with softball, volleyball, dance team, track, choir, band, drama, DECA and speech. After high school she plans to attend ISU to study sociology, looking to a career in human resources.

Violet – I have enjoyed every moment with you so far with TEAM 24! I’m so honored you had applied to become a spokesmodel this year! As you start your first day of your last year in high school, remember that this moment is not just the beginning of another school year; it’s the start of an incredible chapter filled with tons of opportunities, growth, and cherished memories. Your success so far is a testament to your amazing commitment and the remarkable person you’ve become! I can’t wait to see the incredible journey you are destine to take!
