{An Engagement Session at Kennedy Park and Downtown Fort Dodge}
Mary and Austin’s engagement session was originally scheduled for a Friday which turned out to be a dark, gloomy, raining day. So we decided to rescheduled to the following week on the last remaining warm day of the season. Looking at the weather today, it was the best decision ever! Even though it was cloudy and windy, the afternoon was filled with warm 70 degree temps!! We embraced the wind and made strategic decisions to use it in our favor. All in all, it was such a beautiful afternoon!
We started the session out at Kennedy Park in Fort Dodge and manage to find the last lingering leaves on a couple trees. We even found a large, open field of tall grass. I love photographing in fall grasses because the creamy beige color makes for the dreamiest images and the best skin tones. After the park, we headed downtown to explore and, of course, we found all the gorgeous architect to incorporate into their images. I know I’ve said this before, but I just love how the light filters through downtown buildings. It’s so soft and easy to control. Austin and Mary are so relaxed, up for anything and they trusted me. It’s hard enough to feel comfortable having your pictures taken in normal situations, but these two made it easy even in the midst of loud construction, a busy downtown and dealing with wind!
If you follow the blog closely, you may think that Mary looks familiar and that’s because you’ve seen her on the blog before! She’s the sister of one of my past CBS Brides and it’s such an HONOR to be a part of another celebration within this family! I can’t wait see these two again next fall and celebrate the love and joy they have for one another! Enjoy scrolling through all of my favorites of this adorable engagement session!
