{A Classic Wedding in Downtown Des Moines at The Conservatory}
I can’t believe Jadi is MARRIED!!!!!! When I first met her, she was 15 or 16 and was the very first babysitter we had ever hired to watch Liella. We absolutely ADORED her (and still do)!! She is the type of person who LOVES children and is always living her best life whenever she is around them. She has the sweetest and most caring soul. We quickly grew quite fond of her and consider her part of the family. When she graduated high school and moved away to college, we were so sad to see her go. But at college is where she met Luke, the guy who has changed her life forever! Luke is just as sweet and caring as Jadi, AND, extra bonus, he loves to hang out with kiddos too! They are a match made in heaven and it’s definitely no coincidence that they have found each other! We couldn’t be more happier for the two of them.
Luke and Jadi’s perfect wedding day started out with the girls getting ready at Jadi’s sister’s (Jenna) house. Jenna is THE best hostess!! She had the cutest breakfast spread set up complete with a framed itinerary for the day! After Jadi had slipped into her GORGEOUS Morilee gown, it was off to see her groom for the first time in the prettiest little First Look spot next to the AC Hotel. The plan was to ride around downtown on a bus for wedding party portraits. It started to rain just as we were beginning but thankfully I had gotten a few quick capitol photos before we hurried back to the hotel. The rain kept us in the lobby of the hotel for wedding party portraits, but after it cleared up, we grabbed one quick shot with the group in the middle of E Grand Ave. Then, it was time to head to the church. I have never been more thankful for extra time in between the ceremony and cocktail hour then I was at this wedding because we needed that extra time for bride and groom portraits. At this point in the day we had only gotten the one capitol shot! Thankfully, the clouds started clearing up and the sun began peaking through. There is something about how light filters through city buildings that gets me every time. It’s just so dang pretty! Some of my favorite portraits ever are just from strolling around downtowns. We finished the day partying the night away at The Conservatory. I love the industrial feel of the entire venue with metallic and gold touches soften with beautiful artwork displayed on every wall. The chandeliers and string lights add to the romantic and elegant vibe.
Jadi and Luke–thank you so much for inviting me along the journey of your love story! We are unbelievably happy for you to start an incredible life together!! Luke, you are a lucky man and have married into one special family! I hope you enjoy reliving your day through my eyes! May the rest of your days be only filled with wedded bliss!!
THE MOST important shot of the entire day! Thank goodness for Baby Shark! HAHA!
