{An Iowa Spring Engagement Session in Algona}
It has been quite a busy month here at CB Studio but I am loving every minute of it! Leslie and Joe traveled all the way from Muscatine for their engagement session last Saturday and these two are the epitome of pure joy!! We were constantly laughing and giggling the entire evening! I hardly had to give any posing instruction because their love just naturally radiated. It is so obvious the affection they have towards one another! Such a DREAM couple!
My favorite thing about photographing young couples and weddings is getting to know their story. Joe and Leslie spent most of their relationship long distance and EVERY SINGLE DAY Joe would send a postcard to Leslie. Even when he knew she would be back at her home town for the weekend, he would send them to her mom’s house where she would stay. When Joe was ready t0 proposed to Leslie, he took her on a hike at Wildcat Den State Park and popped the question over a picturesque, babbling brook. That special day was filled with all their favorite things including donuts and baking a peach pie with family.
While I was admiring Leslie’s engagement ring during the session, Joe mentioned that the diamond had belong to his grandmother. He had it set into a band just for Leslie. During our shoot, he wore socks with flamingos on them because his grandmother loved the bird. You can see a sneak peek of the socks below! I always adore family legacies like this. What a special way to honor her! I’m sure Joe’s grandma was one amazing lady!
Leslie and Joe: Thank you so much for trusting me with your wedding and engagement images. The connection you two share is something so incredible. It’s an honor to be the one chosen to remember this special season with you. Just being a very small part in your story is what makes my job feel SO purposeful! I cannot wait for the day when we can hang out together again on one of the greatest days of your lives! Enjoy scrolling through some of my absolute favorites from your engagement session!
