{Ultimate Date Night and Mini Session Giveaway Winner}

To celebrate the studio’s 10 year anniversary, I gave away the ultimate date night to one lucky client who follows me on social media! The prize consisted of dinner at Emerald’s, axe throwing at Algona Axe House, drinks at Perky Parrot and a mini session with me that included hair and makeup from Innovations Salon. I’m excited to say that Rachel was my lucky winner!!!! It couldn’t have been more fitting, as she won the prize literally 2 days after Mitch proposed!!! What a fun way to celebrate an engagement! We met up at our pasture this past Friday evening to redeem her mini session and we witnessed some of the glowy-est light I’ve seen so far this spring. Spring in Iowa = cloudy days…literally. every. single. day. But we lucked out and found a little spot where the light was great and the wind was not terrible.

I photographed Rachel’s senior photos years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday! It was winter and I was very pregnant with Liella. We got lucky back then too because it started to snow the most beautiful, fluffy snowflakes in the middle of her session! Those portraits are still some of my favorite snow images to date! Check out her blog post from back then, here. My style sure has changed a lot in seven years!! But one thing is certain, Rachel is still just as beautiful!

Rachel and Mitch–you are truly THE cutest couple!! I had so much fun in the short 30 minutes I had with you guys! Take time to enjoy this very special season in your lives. Wedding planning can be stressful but at the end of the day, it’s your love for each other that will outweigh any bumps along the road. And when these bumps come along (because let’s face it, they always do), just remember how you felt for each other on this day, or the love you will feel on your wedding day. Always remember why you chose each other. 💕
