{A Wedding at The Little Brown Church in the Vale}
This was not your typical wedding…or, at least, not typical of what you may be use to seeing me photographing and blogging. But I’ve always wanted to shoot at The Little Brown Church in Nashua! If you’re from Iowa then you might know that this church is famous, not only for its incredible history but also the amount of couples they unite in marriage. Over 76,000 to date!! Thad received an amazing job opportunity in COLORADO and the couple wanted to be married before they moved. And by before, I mean, THE DAY before they left, which was 2 days after Christmas!!! Talk about a busy week! Whew!
The entire event lasted only 90 minutes! Yes! You read that right! Only an hour and a half to be married and take few portraits. Which means there was no first look, no bridal detail images, very few getting ready shots (Ashlyn was only allowed 30 minutes to get ready) and only about 5 minutes for bride and groom portraits after the ceremony and family formals! Talk about pressure!!! But it was a BEAUTIFUL December day and it was a very moving ceremony! Many of Ashlyn and Thad’s friends and family drove 2.5+ hours to witness the vows they made to each other. And the best part of all…we get to celebrate them all over again during their reception on their original date in June!
Congratulations Ashlyn and Thad! I hope you are taking this time to enjoy all of life’s adventures during this season. I’m excited to be able to provide you with more beautiful images this summer! See you in June!
