{Revisiting My Favorite Engagement Portraits of the Year}

One thing is certain, I love emotion and I love an epic view! Put those two things together in an image and I will forever obsess over it! Every year I go back through tens of THOUSANDS of photos and select my absolute favorites from each gallery. It’s a LONG process…but it is so rewarding!!! I get to re-live so many amazing memories, clients and locations that I had the chance to photograph throughout the year. I also get to see the patterns in my work that qualify as my “favorites”…which are so interesting to see! You can see last year’s favorite engagement images here: 2020.

2021 was filled with some incredible CBS couples (as always!!!) and some amazing shooting locations but my favorites are the ones in the pastures right around our farm. Living in Iowa, we really do have some gorgeous landscapes. But I have a big goal to travel more! I would LOVE to capture a more variety of epic backgrounds! I always feel the most creative when shooting in new locations. It truly sets my soul on fire!
