{A Recap of Our August!}

August consisted of winding down the summer doing all the fun things! We started the month out with the Kossuth County Fair!!! Liella was excited to try out for the little princess pageant and did FABULOUS on stage! We were so proud of her! It’s nice to see her try to break out of the shy shell she has started to develop over the last couple of years. Of course we enjoyed all the fair has to offer, we watched the parade, ate the food, visited all the animals and rode all the rides!

About half-way through the month, Joe came across an ultimate barn-find…a 1973 Dodge Charger! Our neighbors had it stored in their shed for almost 20 years and it was time to let it go. We were so fortunate that they allowed US to purchase it. Joe has been living his best life trying to fix it up and get it running. Oren loves anything that drives so he’s been very interested in daddy’s new project. I know they will have a blast working on this car together!

We finally made it to Bouncelandia in Okoboji before school started! We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather! The kids have been begging to go back since we had gotten rain checks over the 4th of July. And to my surprise, they serve Cutwaters! So mom and dad were just as happy as the kiddos! HAHA! 😉

August also brought the first day of first grade for Liella and she is loving being at Bryant Elementary. She is growing into quite a smart and sassy young lady! Sometimes I wonder if she’s really 6 or 16! 😂 But I know she’s smart as a whip and will so many great things!!
