{A Spirit Lake Wedding}
One of my favorite part of photographing weddings is seeing how brides and grooms incorporate special details into their day that have so much deep meaning to them. Chris and Hannah put so much thought into commemorating the ones they love. Hannah wore her mother’s pearls {the same ones she wore on her wedding day}. She also wrapped a beautiful scarf around her bouquet that had once belonged to her aunt who has since passed. Plus so many more added details, like the watch adorned on her bouquet and the lace butterfly pinned to her chest, but one of my favorites was the song written by Hannah’s grandmother that was sung by a small chorus that included her father during the ceremony. Hannah’s dad even wrote his own, sweet and entertaining, version of Hallelujah and sang it to the couple during the reception. These memories are one-of-a-kind and truly make the day so unique and special!
The next best thing to special commemorations is a super fun group! And these guys killed it!! SO. MUCH. FUN with this crew! We’ve known the Kellner’s for years so half of the wedding party was already pretty comfortable with me. The entire evening many guests kept asking me where Joe and the kiddos were and it makes my heart SO HAPPY that they are thought of while I’m working. But this mama knows that sometimes toddlers can be a distraction while working {sometimes? Ok…ALL the time! 😆} So it was best for them to just hang out at the campgrounds at the venue.
Speaking of venue, Chris and Hannah had the most stunning views of East Okoboji Lake at the reception and we took full advantage of them during sunset portrait time!!! OBSESSED doesn’t even describe how I feel about those images! THANK YOU for getting married in Spirit Lake! And last, we rounded out the evening with a grand sparkler exit that might even make the Queen jealous! 😜
Chris & Hannah — Your new journey ahead will be a wild and adventurous one but it will be the greatest and most rewarding path you’ve ever ventured on! Enjoy this recap of your amazing day through my eyes! Congratulations on your marriage and cheers to new beginnings!!
