{Let’s Get Ready with Michaela and Sam!} 

Almost every wedding photographer recommends “getting ready” photos during your wedding day. It truly paints the picture of the entire day and depicts your story as you and your spouse start a new legacy together. It’s a must and a staple in the wedding photography industry these days. But what about prom? What if photographers documented getting ready for prom like weddings? After all, prom is only experienced during your high school years and is just as magical and fun as your wedding day! I had never really seen it done before. So I got this crazy idea to follow my niece, Michaela, around as she got ready for the 2021 Algona High School Prom!

We started the day at Innovations Salon & Spa for hair, then back to her house as she did her own makeup. I love that she takes risks with her makeup, it looked phenomenal! But let’s talk about the dress! Guys…THE DRESS!!!!! It’s Sherri Hill from Teresa’s Bridal & Prom and it is STUUUUUUNNING! It’s SO unique and it’s SO Michaela. It fits her personality perfectly with all the vintage/boho vibes in her favorite color. Honestly couldn’t picture a more perfect dress for her! After she was dressed we tackled the big boutonniere battle with her beau Sam. These two are so cute together! Then it was outside to the porch for portraits. My dad even played chauffeur as he drove them in his 1969 Ford Fairlane. The perfect touch to the day! We even talked Jocelyn into a couple portraits! Guys, I had SO MUCH FUN! Let’s make this a thing!!!!!!!!!!
